All the Spring Breakers are going crazy and I I'm feeling the traffic. My name is Brandon Thrasher down there enjoying his spring break is Chuck Iron Fist. How you doing? 1:12 Speaker 4 Hey, man, you know, as we're recording, you know what day it is, I have to say it. He is risen. 1:18 Speaker 3 It's Monday. Do you know, Are you talking about the day? The day that we're recording this? 1:24 Speaker 4 And you say? 1:27 Speaker 3 Wait, what's that again? 1:28 Speaker 4 1:28 Speaker 4 He is risen. 1:30 Speaker 3 Yes, he has. 1:31 Speaker 4 No, my God, you're going to hell, dude. You are going to hell. You're not a Christian. 1:36 Speaker 3 What? What do we? What do you say? 1:37 Speaker 4 You always say he is risen, and they say he has indeed. 1:41 Speaker 3 That's what I said. Yes, he has. 1:45 Speaker 4 I'm going to have to talk to some church, like some actual Christian. I'm a Christian, but I think you're getting that wrong. 1:51 Speaker 3 That's the, that's the layman terms, That's the old style. You know, if you want to get the young kids involved with it, you got to have newer hip lingo. And I'm not going as far as all these crazy contemporary churches where they got bands and Starbucks in the fucking church and everything like that. That's just freaking ridiculous. That's wild. That's crazy. But I I I actually led the prayer at Easter lunch today. 2:11 Speaker 4 Do I hear you? Really. I would actually. You know what? Yes, I want to hear the prayer. 2:16 Speaker 3 This is like 95% accurate. All right, here we go. I'm holding everybody's hands. My eyes are closed. All right, here we go. Join with me. Why your eyes open? Come on now, dear guy, thank you for this Easter. Thank you for our friends and family. We appreciate your son, Jesus Christ Jesus. Thank you for rising after three days of being dead. 2:33 We really appreciate it. We appreciate you dying for our sins. And I'm happy to be here with the family. And I'm glad that you showed those dirty Jews who King is who the. 2:41 Speaker 4 Truth is. 2:42 Speaker 3 Jesus. Amen. That was it. 2:45 Speaker 4 Tell me you did not really say that. 2:47 Speaker 3 You know, I didn't say the Jew part because, you know, I mean, my grandma, she's stuck in her ways, you know, and it's hard. It's hard convincing older people about what's really going on. I mean, I have a hard enough time convincing you, and my grandma's like 30-40 years older than you, so you can imagine how much harder it'd be to convince her. 3:03 Now, sometimes we do get on tangents about that, about what the Jews are doing. 3:03 Now, sometimes we do get on tangents about that, about what the Jews are doing. And I tell her they're. 3:08 Speaker 4 Doing bad shit, grandma, you're not convincing her because she's right. But either way, it doesn't matter. We're not going to get into this today. It's a holy day. It's Easter for us as we record this. 3:18 Chuck's Vacation Story: The Easter Bunny's Unmasking And I got to say I definitely it's weird being on vacation and we're in Orange Beach, AL right now being on vacation and like dealing with Easter because you feel really guilty, right? You know that you're not at home and you're not able to go to your church and all that. 3:35 But the best, the best thing that's ever happened. So Megan, I, I said, what are we going to do about Easter baskets? And we don't. And we, we're not good parents like me and Megan are not good. We, we don't have conversations with our kids, you know, the tough ones, like, hey, tooth fairy, not real, right? 3:51 Oh God, you know what? If anybody's in the car with their kid right now. 3:56 Speaker 3 Letting it out the bag. 3:57 Speaker 4 No, that's not happening. But I but you know, so, but we don't, we just don't have that conversation because I feel like, you know what, one day they're going to ask. I asked when I was probably way too old and I, I, I was 13. And I said to my mom like, hey, is is Santa Claus real? And she said, ask me no questions. I'll tell you no lies. 4:13 And I'm like, oh God. 4:14 Speaker 3 Where the Hell's the claws at, Ma? 4:14 Speaker 3 Where the Hell's the claws at, Ma? Where's the claws? So. 4:18 Speaker 4 So we, you know, Megan said, Hey, I'm going to plan for this. So she gets the Easter baskets, She puts them in the the van. We, we, we get all this stuff. All you know which Cara got a collared shirt. He was pretty pissed off this morning. But she, she puts these Easter baskets together. It's 4:35 We're we're at the beach and Megan wakes me up and she goes, hey, go get all the Easter basket stuff out of the van. I said perfect. So I do it. So I bring it in. Megan makes Easter baskets. Now, mind you, we have an, an extra kid with us. We have what my, the picture of myself. 4:50 It's, it's the well, it's Patrick's. It's, it's my boy Patrick's. His daughter is friends with Savannah I. 4:56 Speaker 3 Just imagined it'd be like who's goddamn white baby is that? Just 'cause you name it Darren don't mean it belong to Darren. 5:00 in the morning, Easter morning. 5:00 in the morning, we put the Easter baskets together and I go, Oh my God, Megan. 5:03 Speaker 4 Anyway, no, I haven't. I have no idea what you're talking about. You. 5:05 Speaker 3 Never seen that with Katt Williams where he's in jail and she's like. 5:08 Speaker 4 Oh. 5:08 Speaker 3 Yes, yes, the hey Daddy, right? That that baby ain't mine. 5:13 Speaker 4 I don't have a black child with me though. 5:15 Speaker 3 Yeah, I know, but you had a white child, didn't you? 5:18 Speaker 4 She is a white child. 5:19 Speaker 3 White baby is that? 5:20 Speaker 4 So I, I have this extra kid and, and Megan said, you know what, we're going to do this, we're going to make all of them an Easter baskets for our 4 Easter baskets. 5:28 Speaker 3 Wait, wait, hold on, wait, wait. Did you say Justin's kid? 5:31 Speaker 4 No, Patrick. 5:32 Speaker 3 'S oh OK about that. I thought Justin was like 2 years old. What are you doing with a 2 year old out? 5:35 Speaker 4 There, you're not bringing. Are you kidding me? No, I'm not bringing a 2 year old with me. This one's 13. So everything's good. And so she comes. We Megan does the four Easter baskets. Everything's going smooth, right? And last night one of the kids on Carter's baseball team is staying 2 resorts down. 5:54 So last night they were like, hey, can we have a sleepover? Like he come back to our place and have a sleepover. We got, I mean, we got a big unit. I I think it's a 3 bedroom, 3 bath. It's a pretty big unit for all of us. And I'm like, yeah, you know what, that's fine. So the boys are hanging out and this morning, 6:12 And she goes, what? I said we have, we have a problem. She said what I'm like, well, Jackson, oh, I shouldn't even say his name, but it's not a negative thing. I can, I think I can say a kid's name if it's not negative, right? 6:22 Speaker 3 Yeah, I mean, he's not one of the blackface kids, is he? 6:24 Speaker 4 Oh, God, no, stop it. Stop talking about that and you put it on. I won't get into that. Anyway, so he's staying here and you know, great kid, whatever. But I told Megan, I said, what's going to happen when we get up in the morning and Carter comes out and he goes, the Easter Bunny came, you know, like this is awesome. 6:43 Hey, where's his Easter basket, blah, blah, blah. And then he goes. 6:48 Speaker 3 What an Easter Bunny. 6:51 Speaker 4 He goes what are you talking about? And then you know, my son goes well, these are Bunny brought us because I don't know if Carter I don't I don't know. I don't know if Carter believes, but I know this is how it's going to go down is. 7:01 Speaker 3 This Carter's friend and he's like 4 years older than him. 7:04 Speaker 4 No, no, they're the same. They're on the same baseball team. They're boys, I thought. 7:06 Speaker 3 You said this kid was 13. 7:09 Speaker 4 No, Savannah's friend is 13. You got to keep up. Savannah's friend is 13. This kid is 11. 7:14 Speaker 3 Oh, you're just bring, You got so many extra random kids on your vacation. I didn't know about. I I thought it was just a family thing. I didn't know you're bringing other random children. See, you are good at sourcing children. 7:23 Speaker 4 There's, there's a lot of kids here right now. There's a lot and there, and you know, it's funny as I had to kick them all out so I could record. So they're at another resort. They're they're 3 Doors Down at the waterfall Resort. And, and the Megan and Megan and this other mom are so excited because there's a bar at that resort. Our resort doesn't have a bar. So anyway, so we get up this morning, Easter baskets or Easter Easter Bunny came and, and you know, of course, Sydney, you know, she's, she's stoked. 7:45 I mean, she's, she's like, how in the world did the Easter Bunny get into the condo? And I'm like, I don't know, it's crazy, you know, and Savannah and her friend come out, they grab their baskets and they just walk right back into the room like nothing happened. Well, then Carter comes out and sure enough, he got, he goes, Hey, Dad. 7:45 AM, Yeah. 8:03 I mean, how did the Easter, how did the Easter Bunny not know that he was here? You know, I said, I don't know, it's weird. And then I looked at Megan and she's making breakfast and Megan goes, oh, my God. And Jackson, you know, this kid, great kid, walks out and goes, what's up with the Easter baskets? 8:21 And. And we told him he goes, yeah, I think my mom brought all my stuff, too. I probably got mine sitting at at the resort, you know, we're staying at. And Carter's face, he's he goes, your mom brought it. And he goes, yeah, my mom brought it. And you could tell in that moment, things are Carter. 8:37 Carter realized the Easter Bunny's not real. The. 8:40 Speaker 3 Wheels are spinning. 8:44 Speaker 4 So yeah, so. So that's my day, man. My my son. My son figured out that the Easter Bunny's fake. 8:49 Speaker 3 He's probably going through like an eighth life crisis right now, like an eighth of his life, like where he's finding out that all the, you know, like Easter Bunny and that now he's probably thinking about Tooth Fairy and Santa Claus and like, Jack Frost and Paul Bunyan. You know, he's probably thinking about all these guys. They're just like, yeah, I mean, he gets roped in with him, doesn't he? 9:08 Paul Bunyan and the Blue Ox. 9:10 Speaker 4 Babe. 9:11 Speaker 3 Babe the blue ox, Yeah. 9:14 Speaker 4 Yeah, I think, you know, it's funny though, is when I, when I found out that I think I found out first about the tooth fairy and that really didn't set off a lot of alarms. And then the Easter Bunny kind of started setting off alarms with me because I'm like, how does this freaking rabbit deliver that many baskets? And they're always so well put together. 9:29 You know what that was like. If you want to really make it real, knock them over, you know what I mean? And put some rabbit shit at them. So, so that's what I but but I was I was a die hard. Like Santa is real. Like I, I believe that. 9:45 I think I was a teenager. I really do. I think I was 13. 9:47 Speaker 3 Santa, see Santa confused me because, uh, you know, I, you know, you see fat people, you know, they're not very, uh, you know, they, they don't move around very well. You know what I'm saying? You know, I, I just couldn't understand Santa, how he's doing all that. I'm like, I feel like he'd be skinnier if he was like, you know, moving and running all these houses and doing all this work, like how'd he still stay that fat? 10:05 And I, I was very confused, but I was like, whatever, man, I ain't asking no questions. As long as the big man keeps bringing, bringing presents, I don't give. 10:10 Speaker 4 A fuck. All right, That's it. That's it. That's why I think even after today's situation, Carter is not going to say anything because he does appreciate it. I mean, he got obviously he got crappy stuff from his mom. His mom put, you know, the collared shirt, khaki shorts. She also had some very limited edition baseball cards in there. 10:26 And so Carter and his buddy, we're going through those. And so I think Carter's smart enough to just not say anything. But you could see it on his face today when he said, yeah, I think my mom brought my my basket, too. And Carter's like 2. No, but. 10:39 Speaker 3 No, no, this was Easter Bunny. Mom doesn't do. 10:42 Speaker 4 That. Are you kidding me? I'm so glad he didn't say that. I was so embarrassed for him if he would have, but yeah, he he's, he held strong. So that's that's what we did today. 10:50 Speaker 3 He, he might start playing it now, you know, but now he's going to want to see the instead of the Easter Bunny, he's going to want the Playboy Bunny here soon. 10:57 Speaker 4 I that was real. I I will say they found so we went out last night to to dinner, which by the way, I made the waitress cry. That was awesome. With what? 11:06 Speaker 3 You're broken, leader. Show it to her. No. Why? 11:08 Speaker 4 Why would you even bring that up? It wasn't there wasn't even a Segway there. You've been saving that one for a while. You just wanted to bring it up in some in some way, and you finally got a way to bring it up and you just do it in. I'm sure she'd. 11:19 Speaker 3 Probably cry. And I thought, Oh my God, what the fuck is that? 11:22 Speaker 4 It's not broken, dude. It's it's. Oh, it's. 11:24 Speaker 3 Fixed it's. 11:24 Speaker 4 Healed almost. I think it's fine. I think it's fine. But anyway, no, the boys went out. We went out to dinner and went to this really fancy freaking. Well, it's not really fancy, but it's a beach place, right? And you're getting old. No idea, but I'm getting old. 11:40 I do know a cosmos, Cosmos. So I'm getting old and I can't see as much as I used to, especially if there's bad lighting. So we have this massive dinner. We go out, our friends are there. So. So we do a flight of very expensive bourbons and whiskeys and we're all hanging out. 11:59 And I get my bill. Well, I look at it and it said I, I will die on this hill, man. 11:59 And I get my bill. Well, I look at it and it said I, I will die on this hill, man. It said $243 right now. Mind you, no for the whole bill. For the whole bill whole. 12:12 Speaker 3 Bill so I got. 12:13 Speaker 4 The whole bill for everybody. And I, I see, you know what, I got it, it's fine. And so I look at it and it says $243.00. So I immediately I have cash because when we go on vacation, I carry it in my little Fanny pack and I have it strapped to my body and I hand the waitress $300 and I say thank you, keep the change, right? 12:34 I mean, that's that's pretty legit, right? I mean, $243.00 bill, $300, That's a good tip. Am I wrong? Yeah, 50. 12:41 Speaker 3 $7.00 Tip. 12:43 Speaker 4 That's and which would be 2021 percent. Is that good? Sure. All right. So anyway, so we leave there, we go over and the boys find this like little spot where they have cards that say things like, you know, keep your hands off my pecker and and you know, and and don't, don't look at my titties. 13:02 And they, they didn't think it's the funniest thing ever. So they're just laughing and I'm taking pictures of them. They're holding up the car and it was great. So anyway, so we get ready to leave and we had Ubered there. We all took Uber's like Uber black or whatever. It's the big vehicle Uber X and the Uber driver gets there and they say, Hey, Megan goes to get in with a glass of wine and the guy goes, dude, you're not getting in my freaking brand new Yukon Denali with that glass of wine. 13:27 So Megan says, hey, can you run in and get me A to go cup with a with a lid? So I run in, dude, I run in and the waitress is crying at the table and she's cleaning everything up and I see it. But I'm thinking, you know, she probably just her boyfriend broke up with her. 13:45 You know something. So I'm, I'm, I said to the bartender, I said, Hey, can I get A to go cup with a lid? And the bartender goes, can I ask you a question? I said what? And they go, did you mean to give her a $7.00 tip on a $293.00 bill? 14:02 You. 14:05 Speaker 3 Fucking Jackass mother can't. 14:07 Speaker 4 Do math and. 14:08 Speaker 3 It can't read. 14:10 Speaker 4 I need glasses, I think so I said. I said what are you talking about? I gave her a freaking $57 tip and he said Sir, your bill was $293 and you gave her $300 and said. 14:26 Speaker 3 Just I hire $7.00 to get you a lot around here she's got. 14:29 Speaker 4 New lollipops. So I felt so bad. So I walk over to this waitress and she's dude, she's teared up. She's she's crying. She's so upset. She thinks she did. So I said look. I said, I feel so bad right now. I said, I swear to God I saw 243 instead of 293. 14:48 I said, I'm so sorry. I said, how do we make this right? And then, you know, mind you, I only brought $300 because I didn't plan on spending $300 on dinner. And that's what it was. So I said, how do we make this right? She goes, oh, I mean, if you want, if you want to give me a tip, you can use your credit card. 15:04 And I said, well, how do I do that? I said I'm totally fine. Yeah. So she goes. She goes, do you mind if I just charge you for like a a a side of fries and you leave me a big tip And then and then in my mind, I'm going, am I going to get the fries? 15:20 You know, this is weird. Just get a. 15:21 Speaker 3 Coat to go. 15:23 Speaker 4 She got me fries. So anyway, so I got AI got a $6 fry and then I had to leave her a $50 tip on a $6 fry and she seemed to be happy with that but Oh my God, dude, it was such a mess. So anyway, so while we were there, though, the boys have learned a lot about well, they learned a lot of they learned a lot of phrases. 15:41 So yeah. So tonight we're going out to another restaurant that allegedly has bras on the wall and like a lot of bras. And the boys are so excited and and you. 15:51 Speaker 3 Gotta tell them to like find what you like, we'll get you the same size and that's how you can find your next girlfriend to shop at the bra so. 15:58 Speaker 4 You know what's funny is I told him the story about remember when when I was in Cozumel and I told you about when Nate took us to that restaurant that he took you to Mangoes. Oh yeah, with all. 16:06 Speaker 3 The naked chicks up there and he's got. 16:08 Speaker 4 The book they got the books of just naked chicks in it, right? And so I'm, I'm telling the boys the story because, you know, they were talking about bras and they're talking about the whatever this place we're going to go. And I said, there's a place in Mexico where they give you the menu and then they give you a book and inside it's just nothing but topless women that have taken their top off and have taken a photo at this restaurant, right? 16:29 And Carter goes, Carter goes, I'd be like, I don't even need the menu. Just give me all the books, Jackson and dude, this Jackson, the kid, well, he's so funny and he's all like respect. You're just so stupid. 16:46 At least you know they're. 16:47 Speaker 3 Not going to be gay. That's good, right? Might just have. 16:50 Speaker 4 That's that's an addiction. 16:52 Speaker 3 Young, but I hope not, but you know where the next they're going to request whose whose turn is it to pick the next? Don't y'all like alternate kids? I don't know who where they pick for y'all to go. You did Hawaii and now you're going to buy. But it's getting blown up. When's when's Carter's pick? 17:07 Is that next summer? So. 17:09 Speaker 4 Carter Carter's already doing his his hat in the ring three times and it keeps getting shot down. But I, I think it's because of where he's trying to go. So no, he's trying to go to all the there. There's a lot of topless beaches in Spain and, and he's, he's found, he's found all of them. 17:28 Like he, he knows where they're at. And so he tells, he tells us, Hey, you know, like, hey, we ever went to Madrid and Barcelona and I'm like, why would you want to go to that city? He goes, well, it's really close to this really nice like beach spot and it's called, you know, Alicante or whatever. 17:43 And he goes, you know, we should definitely go there as a family. And it looks really pretty. And so finally I'm like, wait, why is he doing so much research? Well, he found out that like most, most beaches in Spain are topless. But these are like really hot spots. So Carter, he just wants to go to a topless beach and I don't. 18:02 I mean, dude, could you imagine when you were 12 years old if you went to a topless beach, what would you do? Oh, I heard. 18:07 Speaker 3 About him. And I was like, well, I think I heard about it in like 6th grade when we were doing like we had like Spanish class or something and we'd like, you know, they put a documentary up for like the whole class of just like Spain or whatever, or Mexico. It was on there. All the new beaches. I'm like, Oh my God, that's awesome. 18:21 Speaker 4 No, same thing. It's pretty cool. 18:23 Speaker 3 But. 18:24 Speaker 4 I was always like. 18:26 Speaker 3 I was always like, yeah, I I want to go over there, but I had to go with my family. I was like, I don't want my mom to have to be naked out there, too. Then I got to look at that. That'd be terrible. 18:35 Speaker 4 Yeah, see, I told Megan that cause when we were well, because we were talking about it and and here's here's the problem with with you know, like when we were kids, right. I mean you, you you told me you you saw your mom naked countless times. I mean what you've seen her naked price times. 18:52 You might just tell you like an. 18:53 Speaker 3 Everyday thing. 18:55 Speaker 4 You've seen you've seen your mom naked a lot. 18:59 Speaker 3 Not a lot. No, No, not a lot. Couple times I was like, oh, that was me. I saw my mom naked every day. No. 19:06 Speaker 4 God, no. Jesus. I saw my mom naked maybe a few times and it was traumatizing. So I told Megan. Because what my fear is, Carter's like he's just a barger inner. You know what I mean? Like he's one of those kids, a barger inner. 19:21 What the fuck? 19:21 Speaker 3 Is that? 19:23 Speaker 4 Somebody that barges in all the time, they just barge into the room. Like they just don't even care. Like the door can be locked and he's going to kick it open or he's going to pick. He just barges in. And so I think it was like the third time he did that when Megan was either getting out of the shower or she was getting dressed and Carter just barges in and then he goes and he walks out. 19:45 And I said, Megan, you got to stop. Like we got to shut this down because at some point I don't want my son to ever associate, you know, like boobs with his mom. You know what I mean? Like, I feel like he's too, he's too young to, because then I, and I don't know if there was a study done on this and I don't know if it's true, but I do fear this. 20:05 I feel like if you see, I'm not, I don't want, I'm not trying to start a war. OK, Anybody that's listening right now and you're going to try to blow me up on this comment. I'm, it's, it's a serious comment. It's serious. I feel like if you see your mom naked enough times. That might be one of the reasons you turn gay. 20:22 You know what I mean, 'cause you, 'cause you don't want to see like you. You associate that with your mom. There's. 20:27 Speaker 3 Actually, a a study that this guy did, he was sick, man. He and he was trying to prove that he he was meant to be for sons to bang their moms, which is fucking weird. We talked about on the coolest 2 podcast one time Josh knew all about it somehow. What? 20:40 Speaker 4 Yeah. 20:40 Speaker 3 He, he knows this dark, gory weird shit, but it was like this guy that his theory was that society to be perfect if sons bang their moms. And I'm like, that's fucking weird. But apparently there's, there's some kind of thing there. I mean, it's, it's a fine line, you know, 'cause that's where you know your mother caring and nurturing and you want to find the qualities in your mother and a woman normally is what you know, it just happens to be like that happens with siblings also, you know, damn, you know, you're around your siblings so much. 21:06 You find a girl that's kind of like her and people are like, damn, your, your wife's like kind of a lot like your sister. It's just kind of happens like that. But you got to be careful with it because it can get really weird and really out of hand. 21:16 Speaker 4 Well, yeah, that's that's why I mean, I don't, I don't know how that works because even at a young age, I mean, like my son, I mean, he's 11 years old, when he sees his mother naked, he has the reaction that I believe you should have, which is like, like, yeah, like disgust, right. 21:32 Like I remember when I used to walk in on my mom or you'd walk in on your mom a lot, you know, whatever that would happen, you'd be disgusted. You know what I mean? Well, I just want that to keep happening. But I told Megan I was like, you got to, you got to stop. Like you got to like make sure you can't see it anymore because I'm so afraid that one day he's going to go, Oh, gross boobs. 21:49 I'm like, well, that's not your mom, bro. Like it's OK with that one, you know, but it's, it's a fine line. And I just, I don't, I don't how do we even get on that? I don't know. 21:59 Speaker 3 You're talking about, oh, the, the Dicks and tits and the bra bar. You're going to, Yeah. 22:04 Speaker 4 Yeah, So we're doing that. So they're excited. The boys are very excited about that and I don't know how they're going to handle it. Oh yeah. And then we talked about Carter with the Cozumel and then him want to go to Spain. 22:13 Speaker 3 Anyway. 22:14 Speaker 4 Yeah, great, great Easter conversations. It's very, very nice to have these conversations on Easter. 22:19 Navigating Grandma's Finances and a Sisterly Check Prank Yeah, we. 22:20 Speaker 3 So like I said, it was me, my dad, his wife and my grandma that came over and we were there. And, you know, my grandma's getting older, so we're prepping everything, you know, in case she has to go to like a nursing home eventually or whatnot. And I'm wondering if you did the same thing here. So, you know, when it, when it comes to like Medicaid or Medicare or I'm not exactly what, what it is, but when someone gets old and they can't take care of themselves anymore, the government will. 22:43 Well, the problem is the government will step in, but they'll take all your belongings and they'll sell them dirt cheap to pay for, you know, a nursing home for as long as they can. And then after that, the government's like, all right, we'll just use your own money. But so that's why it's good to go ahead and start transferring everything out of their name when they start to get older. 23:00 And I think they can go back like two or three years and check to see if you're trying to do this. Did you have to do anything like that? Because that's what we're doing by grandma right now. We're signing papers, We're transferring everything over to my, my name and my dad's name. So that way if she does ever have to go anything, she doesn't own anything at all and the government can't sell her shit because it's our shit now sounds. 23:17 Speaker 4 Like fraud? To me, whatever you're doing sounds like fraud. No, everybody. 23:20 Speaker 3 Does that it's a it's a loophole, you know, if, if you don't own anything, if Graham, I mean, how's that fraud? Grandma can say, oh, I want to get my house to my son or my grandson. And then four years later she's like, oh, I don't know, I got to go into a nursing home. The government's going to go all right, where you live, Like I live in my son's house, my grandson's house. 23:35 Like they, you can't stay there. Like, no, they're about to sell the house. But all right, well, we'll take you in. But that's that's what a lot of people do. And if you have a older person in your life that's going through that and they do have stuff, it's good to go ahead and get it swapped out of their name before the government can take it. 23:51 Speaker 4 See, I don't, I don't know a lot about that because I'm not the, I'm going to be careful here. I'm not the one in my family that's conniving and looks into that kind of stuff and wants to take over everything. But I will say that when my grandmother was at my house, she wrote me a check. 24:07 I told you showed me a blank check while she was. 24:09 Speaker 3 Oh yeah. Oh yeah, that's right. And. 24:11 Speaker 4 When I looked at it, I thought it was interesting that it was her name on the check and it was my sister's name on the check. Oh yeah, she's. 24:17 Speaker 3 Their power of attorney or executive she is. 24:20 Speaker 4 She is, and so I know my sister's doing all that for her, whatever. But I don't know how that works. I think Medicare, I mean, it takes care of everything, but you're not going to get a nice place because these are nice places are expensive, dude. Yeah, Yeah. 24:30 Speaker 3 24:30 Speaker 3 But I say that's so is that what they're doing? They're transferring everything from your grandma's name into your sister's name. Everything. 24:36 Speaker 4 'S been transferred like there's my my grandmother has I mean, if you were to look at her net worth, it'd probably be $0.00 that's good exactly what you want. Even the check goes into my sister's account and, and she's because my grandma's getting her retirement She, she retired from Detroit Public Schools and she gets that and then she also got my grandfather's retirement and then she gets her Social Security. 25:00 But I mean, she's, you know, she thinks she's rich because I think she makes, you know, $3200 a month, but she has zero, she has zero bills. She has more bills. So that's why she's over here stroking me blank checks, you know, and I told my mom, I said, it's funny because when I told my mom last week, I said, Hey, what do I do with this check, right? 25:18 And she said, well, if you cash it, your sister's going to lose her mind. I said, I know because it's going to come out of that account. So what I'm going to do? And, and this is just funny. And, and I, I don't even, and I'm going to give the money back, but I think it's funny. So I'm going to, I'm going to, I'm going to write the check for $3000, right? 25:37 And when, and, and again, I, I'm not trying to make light of this because I love my grandmother, but I've talked about her on the show many, many times. And you guys all know she, I mean, she's praying to go. 25:48 Speaker 3 You know and. 25:50 Speaker 4 So when that happens, I'm going to write a, I'm going to write a $3000 check. I'm going to cash it to myself and and when my sister loses her mind, then I'll I'll give it back. But it's just going to be funny to see my sister just like, Oh my God. So I got to wait because I don't want to car. I don't want to cause a war until I have to. 26:06 But it's just it's just funny. 26:06 But it's just it's just funny. Yeah, she'd be. 26:08 Speaker 3 Like, did you give Chuck a check, Grandma? Blah. Hell, right, I did. All right. He's my grandson too, so I'm taking care of his like, well, he can have $3000. That's fine. I imagine going down and I think. 26:22 Speaker 4 The life insurance is I think your life insurance is 30. I should write it for 30,000 That would be even better because I mean my my sister would have a heart attack if I got the life insurance money that'd be just write it for. 26:32 Speaker 3 Like $30,000 and 30,000 and $1.00 and it bounces. You got to call yourself, hey, what's going on here? I need a dollar in that account so it's clear. A Chuck, you piece of shit. What are you trying to do? 26:44 Speaker 4 I just trying to 'cause you just trying to cause some problems with my family. But I but I think, I think what you're doing is that's not, it's not stupid. It's just what I mean, at the end of the day, I know, I know, I know the answer to this, but at the other day, why don't you just like have her live with you and take care of her? 27:00 Speaker 3 Yeah, OK. Yeah, right. I'm trying to enjoy my life. 27:05 Speaker 4 You would How long would you let your grandmother live with you? How long would you let your grandmother live with you? 27:11 Speaker 3 Well, First off, there's nowhere for her to live right here. Second off, I mean, she just stays in the house. She's got a house, you know, she just live in that one as long as she can. But I mean, you had your grandma for two weeks and you're about to RIP what hair you don't have out and I'm like, Oh my God. 27:25 Speaker 4 It's a lot, man. Yeah, it's a lot. I don't want to. 27:26 Speaker 3 Deal with that So I I try to keep my life as stress free as possible so I don't have so I'm not married, I don't have children, not right now because then I would have to work even harder to pay for them so speaking. 27:40 Behind the Scenes: Funding Clips and Listener Acquisition Of work, Speaking of work, you're doing pretty good right now with, with everything. I mean, let's get into the whole, like, let's get into this whole. So, so me and Brandon been talking a lot this weekend. We're doing some advertising your, your Patreon donations matter and we're Brandon's using the money the right way. 27:59 And can you kind of fill me and everybody else in on where the show's going with all that and what we are needing from people? Oh yeah. 28:08 Speaker 3 I got a lot accomplished on Friday night. I tried to get a hold of Chuck. I think he was already passed out drunk by the time I had all these good ideas. 28:14 Speaker 4 I was not. I was. I was. I had to drive at five in the four in the morning. I was sleeping, dummy. Yeah. 28:19 Speaker 3 And he wouldn't answer my call. When I called. 28:19 Speaker 3 And he wouldn't answer my call. When I called. He was like, we go to find the the the resort. I'm like, well, pull over the parking lot, talk to me for 5 minutes. But he didn't. 28:25 Speaker 4 Want I know dude God like that is the work that is the that pisses me off more than anything. My GPS says, you know, 4 miles from destination and I see it says, you know, turn right in .3 miles and Brandon calls me and I, I, I send them to freaking messenger so I can see my GPSI make the right and it says turn left in .8 miles. 28:47 And he called me back and I'm like, Jesus, I'm going to kill this kid. And I'm like, I'm like, dude, I'm trying to drive to the resort. Can you stop calling me? I think, oh, OK, whatever. Hey, you did the same thing to me. 28:59 Speaker 3 When I was head to the Braves game, I was like, I got to get off the phone. I got to figure out I'm supposed to get off here over here, damn it. And he's like, OK, but no. So you know, but me and you know, me and Chuck do do clips every now and then that we can, but they're not as consistent. 29:14 So I figured we needed someone to do them a little more consistently. So I went ahead, told Michael Germany to go ahead and do some videos and whatever the fund is in the shirt account, just have that just just pay the videos for the month and you do the videos, you do the clips. So we can have clips because he's already listened to it. 29:30 He's writing it down. I think there's there's like 220 bucks in there. But what? I told Whoa. 29:34 Speaker 4 Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, dude, I had to put money in. 29:37 Speaker 3 How much I don't? 29:39 Speaker 4 Know he asked for my credit card and then he did whatever he did. I don't know how much I put in. I think I put in like 150 bucks all. 29:45 Speaker 3 Right, well, the next 150 will go back to you, but we need a consistent clip making. So I figured we'd have Michael Jeremy do it. He already listened and what I told him was I was like, dude, just keep making crazy Mark merch. He'll pay you and essentially we won't have to pay anybody for for doing clips. 30:02 You know, Mark's essentially just going to be paying Michael Germany for clips. Just keep buying all his own merch. And I think that's that's that's a good system we got going on here. I was like, so I was like, put his face on pins, fucking diapers, put put it on everything. We'll buy it. 30:15 Speaker 4 So. 30:15 Speaker 3 I think I got that part figured out. I got that part figured out and then the next part was alright, we got, we got to get the ads back going up again. We got to get the ads. We got to see, you know, I think I got $150 on a Instagram ad and it's spent I think $12.00. We've gotten about 12-13 hundred clicks and then I did another 150 on Google Ads and supposedly we're at 2000 clicks on that. 30:39 I have no idea. And he checked the checked the website. He's going to do that today for me. So we can figure out where that's going. But the idea behind that is, you know, if we, you know, we get the clicks and then we got to see how many people are actually sticking around to listen to the show. I'm guessing on the low end it'd be 10%. So we're looking about a dollar per listener is our acquisition cost is what I'm, is what I've kind of figured out on the low end. 31:00 So we want to do is let that run for about two weeks and then we'll have the data and then we can go to someone, you know, sponsor wise and say, hey, look at this like we spent this much money and we got this many listeners off of it. If you spend $2000 a month, we're going to get this many more listeners off of it, which just means more people come to our show and your banner's going to be at the top and we're going to be talking about you. 31:20 So there's that. That's the that's kind of what I got set up going on right now. So we'll see how it goes. Hopefully it works well and you're. 31:27 Speaker 4 Talking about Dary from Rs Andrews, who's a good friend of the show but has not given any money yet. Ideally, we're going to stay on top of them. We're going to stay on top of them because I think this is a good opportunity. I will, I will say I think it's funny that you're, you're using Crazy Mark to fund this entire thing and, and Crazy won't even know that he's doing it because Crazy is just going to be like all this merchandise. 31:47 I can't choose. He can't help. 31:49 Speaker 3 Himself, he's got to buy it. 31:52 Speaker 4 Our entire our entire merch store is going to be nothing but crazy Mark I. 31:57 Speaker 3 Think we've got like 100 something purchases and like most of them are marked. It's, it's pretty crazy. It's wild. It's, it's, it's working though. It's it's a system, you know, it's just, it's a flow chart. Mark gets money, spends it on his own merch. That money goes to Michael Germany. We get clips and then more people see the show, which comes up with more ideas for crazy Mark merch. 32:16 Mark buys the merchant. You keep going in a circle. It's flawless, Flawless. It just runs on its own. 32:22 Speaker 4 I like it. It's smart, man. It's smart. And then I. 32:25 Speaker 3 Saw we have a we got we got a our, our highest Patreon paid member is Linda Finney. Thank you very much to Linda. 20 bucks a month. So there's also something I was saying about doing with this. I want to run it by you as well. I was thinking about doing we, we call restaurant, right? 32:41 Like in wherever I, I don't know, like somewhere in Atlanta, a nicer restaurant, right? And we say, hey, we need 2 free vouchers like for dinner. All right, that's all we're asking for. And we'll, we'll talk about you for like a week or a month. I don't know, like if, if they could just give us like 2 free vouchers each week in exchange. 32:58 We just mention them. Be like, hey, you want to fucking stuff your face with crab and put shrimp down your pants? Head on over to Juicy Cox or whatever the hell it is, you know, and then we can take those and we can call people in the Patreon and give them away like hey, dinner on us over here at this restaurant. Go check it out. 33:14 Tell us how you like it. They'll go in there if they like it, they might go back again, but take us some pictures, you know, and then the the business or the restaurants, they're not really paying anything. You know, they're they're just giving us free food vouchers and the food that gets cheap as hell, you know, to actually buy. So they're really not losing any money. 33:29 And then we have something we can give away to the Patreon people. And then I feel like it's a win win for everybody. We have something to give away. Restaurants get an exposure and someone in the Patreon is winning free. You know, dinner Friday night somewhere nice. 33:43 Speaker 4 It's actually not a bad idea. 33:44 Restaurant Vouchers, PS5, and Josh Gibbs's Wild Messages And I think to be honest, if you said, you know, for 1000 people we're going to give you a voucher that's worth $20.00 a month, you would have the businesses that would do that. I know, I know, I know. 34:00 Like Lowe's would do that, that Lowe's would give you 20 dollars, $20 vouchers. They'd give you 100 of them in a heartbeat, but you got to. But so I think, I think it's genius that way. You're telling these people, hey, you're going to subscribe to a Patreon, but you're going to make money off that subscription. 34:16 Speaker 3 Yeah, there's giveaways through the Patreon as well. More we have, we'll have more giveaways over there as well that we could because I mean, that's just how it works. You know, I'm for this for the honeybee thing. I'm giving away APS five. I got to go buy it down to Jose Epon Stockbridge. I got to go buy APS 5 from him down there. I'm going to give it away because people just love it. 34:32 You know, obviously on face or Instagram they're not paying, but you get something like a Patreon or something in there and we get people that are donating money. We now have the opportunity to buy something really cool and give it away, or a lot of cool things you're experiencing away. 34:45 Speaker 4 So is it possible to, to like, like, OK, because we're, we're going to talk about, you know, crazy hobo nose, right? Hobo nose. We're doing hobo nose this week. We're going to be giving away some tickets. What if we The only way you can get called and win these things is if you're a Patreon subscriber. 35:02 Speaker 3 Yeah, I don't want to push to that that far. I don't want it to be pay to play that much. I think Braves tickets are good. A little one off things here and there for for bits and stuff we want to do, which we got another one talking about here soon. We got to tell you about how you can win some Oakley meta glasses. We'll get to that here in a minute. But I think there's I think we need to have a line between like, you know, free winning like like Hobonos is great. 35:21 I think anybody should be able to play that and we should be able to give them away something like Braves tickets or you know, tickets to this, tickets to that. Braves tickets are good right now because I got a lot of them and it's baseball season. So that's where working well, but I think maybe more, I get what you're saying that the higher ticketed items, the higher price items say, hey, you know, we we want to we want to support and we appreciate everyone that's listening, but we also want to make sure we support the people on the Patreon for helping us out, help us expand. 35:46 We're using that money to expand, but we'll also take some of that and put it back into the community. You know, I think it's a good idea and I think it'll help everybody out. I think it'll help us out. I think it'll help the listeners out that that aren't on the Patreon also, because that means we get more eyes and ears, we get more income coming in, can do crazier stuff, we can do bigger stuff, you know what I mean? 36:04 So I think it helps everybody, but I don't want to take away something from the casual listener as well because some people might not be able to afford it or they they don't want to. And I understand that that's cool. But then you have some people that are like yes I'll throw you 10 bucks a month because I love this show and I want to want to help you guys out and give you some money so y'all can keep going and do crazier shit. 36:21 Speaker 4 I mean guys like people like Josh Gibbs, you know what I mean? Like like, like, I don't know, donate a dollar a month, you know what I mean? I mean, just give us a dollar just so we know you love because I know Josh loves the show. I know he's a good he's a listener. He loves the show. Trust me, every time I talk about him, I get a profanity laced message the next day and he called me. 36:42 I think the the hold on. You know what I'm going to read you the Josh Gibbs this is we should do this. Josh, if you wouldn't mind, send one of these in every week so I can read it on the show that people would really enjoy to All right, here we go. You think that little thing is broke now? 37:00 N word. You better bring your urologist with you. Don't let Brandon do the GD segments. I love that SOB to death, but he's going to hear something and some S word at the wrong time. 37:17 He doesn't understand some of us. Oh, and he's talking about this new this new segment we're doing. Some of us loved war, and some of the others couldn't handle the trauma. You called me a psychopath, you old. C word. Yeah. C word. He went hard there. 37:33 Yeah. God. 37:33 Yeah. God. D word. Next event you're getting Dick punched. 37:39 Speaker 3 Nice, nice. I will say y'all have been commenting like crazy on the past five episodes on Spotify. Keep the comments up. We appreciate it. It helps tell Spotify like, hey, people are listening to this. But yeah, Josh Gibson send you crazy messages to check all you want. We'll read them. 37:54 Speaker 4 Yeah, yeah, Josh Gibbs, crazy comments and just whatever he sends me. 38:02 Auditions for The Vagabonds and June 7th Opening Band Yeah. 38:02 Speaker 3 So we will be doing Hobo Nose again for Friday's episode. So most of y'all know how this works. We record the prior day. So go ahead and call, leave a voicemail if you wanna play Hobo Nose. We got more breaks tickets to give away this for the game this Friday. So go ahead and call us. We'll be doing that game end of the week. 38:20 And we're also we're going to have a guest on Brian from the Vagabonds as well as, you know, we talked about the news is their lead singer, Danny Allen is stepping away from the band to focus on family time, taking care of his kids and his wife. And, you know, seeing how that's going. So the Vagabonds we think are in search of a new singer and we want to be able to help Brian and the Vagabonds out. 38:41 So what we need from you guys is call us and leave us a voicemail of you sing it, you know, pick a song, sing it and whoever you're we're going to play them for Brian whenever we have them on towards the end of the week. So if we just get like, you know, some of you guys loaded up in there in the voicemail, 404-890-0005 just come in hot right off the bat. 38:59 Just start singing your favorite song, you know, sing as much a song as you want to and we'll listen to it. And the winner? Whoever had. 39:06 Speaker 4 Extra credit for Vagabond songs? I mean, I'm just saying. 39:09 Speaker 3 Yeah, it might help your cause also. And we'll let Brian decide who The Who the best one is the winner and we'll give you a call. And you win a pair of Oakley meta glasses nice from Jose Epon, Stockbridge and and. 39:21 Speaker 4 You know, I, I, we've already talked about this on the show. This is not a secret. The Vagabonds are pulling between 10 and $15,000 a gig. So if you. 39:30 Speaker 3 Win. 39:31 Speaker 4 This, you're gonna be making some dough. I mean, I would do it. Now, they're based out of Nashville, so you might have to move to Nashville to do this, but that's what I would do. I I, if I were you, I'd give it on my all and at least get a try out. And who knows? You could be the next lead singer of the Vagabonds. And next thing you know, you're making two $3000 a gig and they're on the road a lot. 39:49 So I think it's a pretty good, pretty good. And you win. Meta glasses. Yeah. 39:54 Speaker 3 And you can record you in your new found profession as lead singer. 39:54 Speaker 3 And you can record you in your new found profession as lead singer. Look at that. But one of our listeners wins. You have to do our events for free, you bastards. 40:03 Speaker 4 Yeah, yeah, yeah, you guys, yeah. The Daily Doe Show is to another event June 7th, and they said that we got to do it for free this time. Thank God. Thank God. Yeah, it'll. 40:14 Speaker 3 Be like, it'll be like Rocky or somebody that wins and he'll be the lead singer. He'll be like, oh guys, look, we're we're up to like 20,000 for the show, but you motherfucker. 40:21 Speaker 4 I swear to God. 40:23 Speaker 3 We gave you this opportunity and meta glasses and you shove it in our face. Damn. 40:27 Speaker 4 So yeah, that'd be. 40:29 Speaker 3 Fun too. So leave us a voicemail. We got a lot of voicemails for you to leave. If you want to play hobo nose call, leave us. Tell us something funny. All right, I want to hear a funny joke or something. Don't leave your fucking number in the voicemail either, or it's getting played. I'm I'm up to the point where people are just going to get called. You're going to be living forever on the Internet in the podcast. So don't leave us your number. 40:45 I can see who calls and then also leave us a voicemail. If you got the wind, you got the lungs to be the next lead singer of the Vagabonds. All right, we got one more thing. A lot of information. 40:57 Speaker 4 We got two more 2. 41:00 Speaker 3 More things. All right, we're our events coming up June 7th. We're getting more information on that. But one of our things was we need a we need a band to open. So we opened it up. We put a flyer out to people. If you're a band, call us and we'll listen to you. 41:15 We'll talk to you on the show and if it's a good fit for us, we'll have you out there June 7th at New Realm Brewing to open up for the The Daily Dose Show. So we do have a voicemail from a band. They did leave their fucking number in here, but they don't know any better, so that's OK. 41:31 I'm just going to have to skip it or cut it out. One of the two. I guess I'll just cut it out, but we'll go ahead and listen to it real quick. Where's it at? I got to go to the downloads of course, and then there it would be. 41:44 Speaker 4 While you're doing this, I will say so I did all the after Brandon told me who this band was. Hold on now. I already started once Brandon told me who this band was, I did all the research. So I went, I went deep, dude. I went into YouTube. I watched their socials. They're really good. Brandon. I, I, I mean, I, I'm not, I'm not trying to bump any bands. 42:02 I'm not trying to say swagger or Duncan Brothers band. It's going to be bumped, but this band's really good. So I'm excited about this one. Go ahead, go ahead and play it. I'm sorry. 42:15 Speaker 5 This is Lewis Ash calling from the band Ashes. I got the flyer for the June 7th. I'm guessing he's. 42:22 Speaker 3 A link lead singer and the founder of the band. Since his last name is Ash, I'm just going off on a limb here. 42:28 Speaker 4 Yeah, it makes sense. So at. 42:29 Speaker 5 New Realm Brewery, I got it from Denton Martin and you know my band Ashes were super interested in playing. I already DMDL's podcast Instagram page with our band's link tree as well as our first single that we posted a couple weeks ago or last week on Spotify. 42:45 We got another song coming out soon and our EP being released April 17th. I put all that info in that message. You can feel free to give me a call back here at 7 O. 42:57 Speaker 2 Respond to the Instagram. 42:58 Speaker 5 One either way we are looking to play the show at New Realm on June 7th and if y'all are interested in booking us that would be great. So I hope to hear back. All right, take care. 43:10 Speaker 3 Awesome. Sounds good. Glad we got a band call and I will be reaching out to him today and we'll get him on the show later this week. And we've got to get the the approval, the release to play their song on the show. We'll have that on before they come on. And we want to make sure we don't get copyrighted because we're always getting copyrighted. 43:25 There's always transcripts and copyrights and lawsuits. I mean, it's a wonder. It's a good thing we don't make any money right now because we'd quickly lose it probably. 43:33 Speaker 4 Yeah, nobody can sue us. We don't have anything to our no, I, I, but I'm serious. I, I was very depressed and, and I know we're going to show the video later in the week of their, their new single and the music video, but their performances, I mean, I'm talking, you know, the stereotype or not stereotypical, but the, the thing you see where the guys have the, the guitar behind their head and they're on their knees and, you know, they're just jamming out. 43:56 And I think they played free bird in one of them. They, they, they do a lot of covers, but they have some great music and I think it's a good fit. I'm, I'm excited, man. I think this is a great start. And, and what here's the problem. What's going to happen if we get 3-4 or five bands that all, you know, call in to play for June 7th and they're all better than the ones we already have? 44:17 Do we? Do we? Do we cut Duncan Brothers Band and swagger? How does that work? I don't. 44:21 Speaker 3 44:21 Speaker 3 Think so. I think, you know, if we get some band named like Bottle Pops or something like. All right, You are slotted at the 44:30 Speaker 4 Yeah, the New Realm's not even open yet. We're in the parking lot. Hey, sorry we got to get these 4 bands in before you guys open. We're just having ourselves a little music festival. It's all good. It's the early. 44:40 Speaker 3 Jam session. Yeah, it's, it's about turning to a fucking 12 hour long concert or something. It's gonna be like Music Midtown, but just fucking 23 hours straight of nothing but music and beer and food and podcasts and we're all gonna pass out and die, but I think. 44:55 Speaker 4 It'll be fun. It's gonna be a good time. June 7th's gonna be our best event yet, I can tell you right now. 45:00 Speaker 3 It's gonna be awesome. It's gonna be great. A lot of people, a lot of bands. It's gonna be huge. It's gonna be awesome. So all right, we've got one last thing and that's actually gonna end the show here. 45:08 Launching 'War Stories' with a Controversial Military Anecdote You'll be you'll hear what we're talking about. I'm gonna let Chuck kind of run it down a little bit. This is more of his brainchild. I think it is a good idea. We collaborated and talked about how to make this work efficiently and make it make sense for the show and for you guys to listen and everything. So, Chuck, go ahead and let him know what we're adding to the show. 45:25 So. 45:25 Speaker 4 You know, I don't want to take full credit for this because there's two reasons that we started doing this. One, you guys all know Brandon is very active on social media as the Ant Zen connoisseur. I mean, he he does that. He's he's got millions, He's got a million followers for this. 45:42 And then now he's doing the bees. And Brandon adds a lot to this show. He's got a lot of a lot of sponsors that pay him to do these things. And he's doing a great job as a social media influencer, which I think is gay, but he's still doing very good at it. And for, for a long time, you know, and me and Brandon have talked about this where he said, Hey, man, I, I can show you how to do this and you can have your own media and, and social media thing and you do the same thing. 46:05 It's just not for me. So I've always kind of just been, I'm here for the show. I love doing the show. I enjoy this. That's the only reason I do it. And this is the first podcast I've ever enjoyed doing, which changes it a little bit, Yeah, But in all my years of. 46:23 Speaker 3 Podcast. This one's my favorite one. 46:26 Speaker 4 Brandon, when you got to take a shot, you got to take a shot. I appreciate it. So, so anyway, so I was, I was sitting home and and you know, for all the crap I give him because he's a psycho, a psychopath is what I call him. That's what makes him the maddest. Josh gives messages me and he's a listener who is who is an Army vet, who I have a lot of respect for. 46:45 I really do genuinely like Josh and I and I think he's, he's a good person. And he said, hey, you know, why, why don't you do a, an episode where you interview military members or veterans that have a story to tell? 47:00 And it kind of clicked. And I, and I said, you know what's really crazy because I have a lot of friends that have one, you know, my Silver Stars, bronze stars with valor combat action that have really went through some things and, and have a great story to tell. But nobody ever talks to them because they don't want to tell the story because they don't go out and go, which podcast can I get on to tell the story of when I got my congressional Medal of Honor, right? 47:24 So I kind of had this minute and I told Brandon about it and I said, you know, what, what if we do this? What if, what if we do 1 episode a week where we interview a legitimate war hero and we take that episode and we do something with it. 47:42 And that's when Brandon had the idea of saying, well, what if we take a small segment? We put it into what the Chuck once a week so everybody can hear it. And you could you hear a, you know, 10 to 15 minute segment once a week during What the Chuck and you'll see kind of what the episode's about. 48:00 And then the episode itself will be available in its entirety to any Patreon subscriber. So if you guys want to hear this extra episode, subscribe to the Patreon. How do they? So Brandon, you know more about this than I do. If somebody subscribes to the Patreon, how then do they have access to this extra episode it'll be on? 48:19 Speaker 3 The Patreon it'll be once you subscribe, it'll be under a it'll be under subscriber benefits. Exclusive content is what it'll be labeled as so to be on the Patreon. I think it'll be available for download. Also, if you don't want to actually have to do it in the Patreon, I think you can download it to your phone and listen to it or you can do it through the Patreon app. 48:39 I'm not 100% sure how that is, but I've seen people other pages on Patreon do that before. So I imagine it it's not too hard to set up. Like I said, we're going to have the lat the 15 minutes for what the Chuck once a week. If you like it. Awesome. Do you want to go listen to the rest? Head on over to the Patreon. 48:55 Just got to get one of your subscriber options. Get that over there and then listen to the whole the whole show, the whole segment, because we kind of want to do it two ways. We want to be like, you know, we want to give you more value over there on the Patreon, but we also want to, you know, we want to entice you to go over to the Patreon as well with with war story. 49:12 So that's that's more your speed, you know, that's more your stuff. You know, more than the traditional show. If you like the war stuff, you like the war stories and whatnot, we'll have that available for you over there. Yes, you're going to have to pay a little bit for it, but I think it's going to be worth it. So you're going to like it and you're going to enjoy it. And if you just want to listen to the 15 minutes of it, you'll hear it right here. 49:30 Speaker 4 I, I will say the 15 minutes you're about ready to hear is it's good, it's emotional. It's I, I didn't know if I should go funny or content, you know, like serious, But the what you're about here is great. But man, I really do wish I could have put the other part of their Brandon where he said that when he was in Korea, there was a prostitute that came in to file a sexual assault investigation against a soldier. 49:54 And he said, well, what you know what happened? And he said the the prostitute said he. 50:01 Speaker 6 He banged me in the butt hole. He banned me in the book and and. 50:05 Speaker 4 He goes, he goes, dude, I'm sitting there in this in this investigation, like we're we're in the interview room and I'm looking at this prostitute who obviously is a prostitute and said, yes, I get paid to have sex. And her problem was she stands up, bends herself over the table and goes and he behind me like. 50:21 Speaker 6 In my butt hole I want to file charges. He bang me a butt hole. 50:25 Speaker 4 And man, it was one of the funniest parts of this entire episode. But there's a lot of stuff in there. There's some other stuff with the death investigations that Korea, lots of war stuff. It's a really, really good interview. I hope that you guys subscribe to the Patreon and and can hear the whole thing. But if not, this 1315 minute segment is, is really good. 50:44 Yeah. 50:44 Speaker 3 I think, I think if you pay for a prostitute, you get access to both holes. I think that's what. 50:49 Speaker 4 He said. And then he said, I don't think, I don't obviously, you know, anybody can stop whatever activity is going on at any time. But I think if you pay a go, you know, a flat rate, I guess you just assume that you can, you know, take the bike off road. 51:05 You know what I mean, like. 51:06 Speaker 3 Oh yeah, I mean, you're renting it out, you know, rentals, rental people treat rentals rough, all right? You know, rentals when no one else is looking, you know, you're like, oh God, I hope no one saw that. I hope it's still working right when I drop it off to the next guy, you know what I mean? So. 51:20 Speaker 4 That's why you never buy a car that was a previous rental. Oh hell no. 51:20 Speaker 4 That's why you never buy a car that was a previous rental. Oh hell no. You know how it's been. They gog. 51:27 Speaker 3 That shit out, man, they're rough on that stuff, you know, fucking it all, everything, every whole bot's all fucked. So awesome. All right, well, we're going to get out of here and you guys stick around. Listen to this last 15 minutes and tell us what you think. 51:43 Comment down below. It'll also be on the Patreon over there, so go check that out, get you one of those subscriber tiers and hear the whole thing. And we'll be doing this once a week, Chuck, the kind of thing before we get on it here. No, man. 51:53 Speaker 4 I'll be in Orange Beach tomorrow. I'll have some more stories for you guys. I'm sure it's going to be interesting, especially if stop drinking modellos, man, that's bad, all right. 52:03 Speaker 3 Sounds good. Chuck will be passed out next time we see him tomorrow. All right, Bud at. 52:07 Chuck's Intense War Story: Saving Lives from an SVBID Attack My at my location at Kirkuk, which was FOB, which is forward operating base FOB warrior. And, and I get there in the fucking middle of the night, you know, and there's, there's a couple of folks, you know, and obviously I'm the only one getting, I'm also the only one on the plane with, you know, I'm in, we don't wear Millet uniforms or anything. 52:28 So I'm in civilian clothes and I've started to grow out my facial hair and you know, just kind of look like a, like a contractor, if you will. And they're all like, that's our guy. So they come get me and you know, there we are. We're doing our thing. Get all trained up. 52:45 You know, once, once you get there, we go through a shit ton of localized training in your Expeditionary detachment before you go outside the wire for the first time. So in my, in my deployment and I, I kept track of all of these things. 53:05 Our team of agents, which it's less than 10 and, and linguists. We, I went on 455. We call them combat sorties, combat missions outside the wire, and we identified 254 bad guys or girls and captured or killed 204. 53:32 Speaker 4 And then how long were you there? 53:34 Speaker 2 Six months. 53:35 Speaker 4 That's a lot that's that is a lot more than one a day. We're really busy. What else you have to do right So but business. 53:43 Speaker 3 Was good well. 53:44 Speaker 4 Yeah, and I mean, you know, you talk about this, this. How many? How many people did you capture or kill? 53:49 Speaker 2 204. 53:51 Speaker 4 So out of all those, and and I know this sticks with you. I mean, you keep you kept track. You kept track because you cared. You kept track because these numbers matter. And the reason these numbers matter is because when we get toward the end of the show, we're going to talk about some of our fallen brothers and sisters. But when you think about all those instances, what's the one that sticks out to you the most? 54:08 Where you go, dude, I shouldn't be here right now, like because we all have them where you just have a situation. And I don't care if you spend any time in the military, even in training, there's guys that'll come and say I probably shouldn't be here right now. And what what one sticks out the most to you? 54:26 Speaker 2 All of them, every time we went outside the wire was was always an adventure. But it's, you know, my partner and I, we play and to this day, it evokes so much emotion. We would, you know, we rolled out in light armored vehicles. 54:46 There was, and when we roll out, there's nobody with us. It's just us agents and our linguists. And this is back in the day. I don't know how they're doing it right now, but there was no, there was no Army support element or Marine support element. It was just us. So we were responsible for everything, all of our comms, all of our countermeasures, you know, we all had everything that we needed. 55:05 We trained very, very hard. And if we had, if, if we were, if we had action, we were it. And you know, so it just, it was what it was. But you know, there are, there are some things and, and here before we go further, I'm going to say that there are, there are some things that only my priest and my therapist will ever hear about. 55:31 And that just is what it is. There's some things that I, I, I do, I do talk about and, and I'll talk about it. But you know, the, the one thing that got the most attention as far as, you know, days that you shouldn't come home or, you know, it's like we had AI don't know how much time I've got, but we had a, I'll try to keep it short. 56:00 I had an informant who contacted us said that, you know, we had a, a bomb maker, an IED maker and that actually it was two of them and that location, everything we were good. 56:18 This informant was very well vetted where it was. And for those who have been in the area will know that like this lovely little garden spot called Hawija is a fucking hornet's nest of just bad fucking people, right? 56:35 So it was like, it was, it was like close to Hawija from where we were. 56:35 So it was like, it was, it was like close to Hawija from where we were. But bottom line, were we had enough we and we were confident enough that we ginned up a whole mission, contacted an Army support element, our Army that was actually on our FOB. 56:51 And I'm not going to say their number designation, but they're really well known. We're like, yeah, that's outside of our AOR, so good luck. And we're all like, all right, fine, fuck it. So we generated our normally when we go out to capture a kill, it would be the two handling agents, the informant, our linguist, because we don't fucking trust anybody's linguist. 57:14 Our linguists are American citizens who were born in the region, naturalized, etcetera. So we didn't, we didn't trust anybody's linguists. But on this particular one, we generate the whole, you know, 6 agents roll out two linguist, 3 vehicles and we're meeting up with our army counterparts at basically kind of like a halfway point. 57:39 And they were, they were out of, I can't remember the name of the, I honestly can't remember the name of the fucking FoB that they were at. But we meet up with them. I dismount and I go to talk with the because it was it was my mission. 57:54 So I dismount my partner, my, my and my partner. He's he's the driver in our vehicle and I go and I talk with the the army. He was a captain and finished briefing him up on details. 58:10 We exchange calms. All is well. I'm standing in front of one of the vehicles, our vehicles. So the army is there. We've got the IP Iraqi policeman. They've they've, they've got basically a cord on it, you know, on both ends of the road there. 58:28 And fucking I'm briefing our boss who was a major. And that was that's, that's the cool thing about OSI. If it's your mission, it's your mission, you're in charge, right? So I'm briefing our boss and I'm also and the other person who got out of the other vehicle is is Matt. 58:48 I'm going to try hard not to cry because I get very emotional about it. I know I. 58:51 Speaker 4 Know yeah it's hard so. 58:52 Speaker 2 Matt was killed in action, but it's, it's, it's our boss. And then Matt and as I'm standing there and I'm briefing them and I'm looking, I'm, I'm at the front of the vehicle and I'm looking back. I, I hear a gunshot, right? 59:08 And I'm looking through the fucking windshield of our, of our soft skin and I see this little white truck, standard little white Toyota truck run over one of the Iraqi policeman who is who is on the the checkpoint in order to keep traffic from coming through, runs him over. 59:26 And we had already been briefed intelligence we had, we had intelligence that there was, there was multiple SVBIDS, which is suicide vehicle borne improvised explosive devices. So multiple SVBIDS in the region that there was like, there's going to be like a, you know, attacks or whatever. 59:48 So based upon what I saw, what I knew, I knew that we were under attack. I, I immediately transitioned, you know, they heard it the, so Matt, Matt and the boss heard it. I transition. I, you know, I'm over the hood of of the vehicle I'm standing in front of and I start laying hate. 1:00:09 And, and I, I'm going to tell you, I credit both all of my time as a security policeman and my time as an agent because I have way more time with a long gun as a security policeman. But, you know, so I start, I start putting rounds into the vehicle and, and it's coming at a high rate of speed. 1:00:30 And as it passes in front of me, you know, I take up a kneeling position, it crashes into the Humvee, the, the Army commander Humvee, which is, I don't know, maybe 60 yards from me. And the driver slumps over now and, and this is all documented. 1:00:52 And because I had to write a lot of anyhow, I hit, I shot, I fired a total of 10 rounds. I without zero doubt, because I saw the rounds hit my target. I could seven of my 10 rounds, I know for a fact hit him and he swamped over in the cab. 1:01:15 So right there in the back of the cab, you know, like you got the window and then you have like that back area of the, of the, the bed. So I put a couple more rounds through there and then, you know, while that's happening, you know, my partners are swung around and everything. Ultimately when it was all said and done, he had two 130mm cannon shells rigged up to blow. 1:01:39 What I didn't know, and you don't know until later once everything's debriefed and everything there were, there were about 36 of us between OSI Arms, special agents and then Army. 1:01:55 I'm the only one who shot. Nobody else got a fucking round off the the only other person who attempted was the turret gunner and the army captain's Humvee. And he was swinging around. But by the time he swung around with his 240, it was the vehicle was already there. 1:02:16 So he just, he just, you know, dropped into the end of the turret into the Humvee there and the so, you know, we all disengage, leave the vehicle there. You know, EOD comes out, they discover the, you know, that it's an SVB i.e. 1:02:34 D You know, they said, hey, if that shit would have where we all were, if that shit would have fucking blown, we'd all be fucking gone. And so I was credited with saving us all, you know, just by seeing what I saw and reacting. 1:02:52 And, you know, people call me a hero. Yeah, well. 1:02:57 Speaker 4 No, that, Well, that's, that's what I was going to ask, you know, if anybody's ever served time in the military, what was the what was the final outcome of that? Did they present you with a medal? 1:03:06 Speaker 2 Yeah, yeah. So I'm going to say this, people, A hero is nothing more than an ordinary person faced with extraordinary circumstances and reacts, actually does something about it. That's it. Anybody can be a fucking hero. 1:03:21 But yeah, so ultimately, when it was all said and done, I was awarded the Bronze Star with valor for my actions. And now here's the thing, dude. And I hope that your listeners, I hope that people will. 1:03:36 Speaker 4 Who have? 1:03:37 Speaker 2 Been and done things. I did a lot. We, my team of the folks, my brothers and sisters, regardless of ranks and everything, that none of that fucking matters. We did a lot of work. 1:03:53 I was a part of a lot of really good work and we did a lot of cool things. And so I get this, I get this Bronze Star with the Fowler for literally something that lasted about 30 to 45 seconds of my six months, and I'm like, God. 1:04:06 Speaker 4 Could you have? 1:04:07 Speaker 3 Included. 1:04:07 Speaker 2 Anything else in there I mean? 1:04:09 Speaker 4 Did you not did you not think about just cutting your arm a little bit on the Humvee so you get a Purple Heart too? I'm just asking, no? 1:04:15 Speaker 2 I have always said I don't, I don't want medals because medals means that whatever and and in this case, but I don't, you know, like I don't want to be a Medal of Honor recipient. I don't want a Purple Heart. You know, I don't. Fucking no. You know, you're lucky I wasn't up there with you. 1:04:31 You're lucky I wasn't. 1:04:32 Speaker 4 Up there with you, because I would have I'd have cut myself. I would have just I'd have tripped out of broken ankle or something been like, man, I tried to return fire Greg, but I just keep I'm sorry team, sorry.
